Tips to help your Pet over Halloween
Pets usually get upset during Halloween festival, as strangers keep visiting you and kids keep screaming “trick or treat” at the height of their voice.
Following steps can help you pacify your pet and keep him safe during Halloween celebrations.
1) If the pet gets spooked easily, use petcalm to soothe their nerves.
2) Keep your pet in a quiet room.
3) Keep pet toys in your pet’s quiet room
4) Make your dog well socialized by allowing him to play with other dogs, pets and take him for long walks.
5) Keep you dog in a similar pet sizes company.
6) See that you pet does not consume any chocolates offered at party, as caffeine is dangerous for pet’s life.
7) You should put the costume on your pet and remove it after some time. Increase the time intervals to keep the costume on the pet. Reward the pet with treat for co-operation during putting on and removing the costume.

This was just the information that I was looking for. With Haloween just around the corner, it is really important to consider your pets needs. Children making noise outside can really terrorise a nervous dog or puppy. I always make sure that my dog has his comfort blanket near, as well as his dog crate so that he can go into his doggie bedroom if he need to!
What sort of time intervals do you recommend for the costume being on and off of the pet?

What I did with my dog is just to start 5 minutes on 5 minutes off with lots of praise. I did this over several days increasing the time slightly and of course you need the all important treats.
But this didn’t take long at all only a week.

I agree Jodie, very easy to train them into wearing the costume and after a short period of time they forget that they have a costume on.

Great pet costumes. Next halloween I’ll dress my yorkies up in a pirate costume and take them trick or treating.

Remember that some kids do not treat dogs well so be sure to not allow your dog to get too close to them. You never can be too safe today, as many would want to sue. Be careful.
